Watch 'First Cut - Being Maxine Carr' on More4 tonight at 8:30. I don't think i'll be able to watch it again because the first time annoyed me so much. It's about women who have been mistaken for Maxine Carr despite quite obviously not being Maxine Carr and the things they had to go through because their neighbours were so delusional.

People are not as stupid as you think. They're even more stupid...

Seriously though I'm not sure the suspicious arseholes on here are for real. Honestly the logic was 'oh she kept herself to herself...she never mixed with anyone...we thought it was fishy.' Then follows persecution, vigilantism and having to justify your identity to these fuckwits who conviently say 'Obviously you're not called Maxine Carr because you'd have a secret identity.' Right so therefore it's obviously Maxine Carr. Give me fucking strength!

We do we make allowances for the stupid when we should quite rightly, and irrationally pole axe them through the throat?

Didn't watch this, but can well imagine the folks we are talking about. Brings to mind the paediatrician who was persecuted, because some stupid sods thought that was the same thing as a paedophile!
Heaven preserve us from the gormless.

Sun readers are. (It was the Sun who publicised names at the time and so far as some who read that paper seemed concerned any word beginning paed meant only one thing)

It's a sculpture I have on my wall - Cousteau's singer created it and it was used on the album artwork for Sirena (it was the cover for the American edition of the album).

The base is a clock with the mechanism removed, and assorted things stuck to it.

To see the full artwork go into the Cousteau link in my signature, and in the pics section you'll find a Discography album and there's a full picture of the sculpture in the artwork section.

Yes they are. If I remember right, it happened in Paulsgrove, large estate, top end of Portsmouth. Was down Portsmouth on Tuesday, as I drove across on to the island I was greeted by the sight of two 'mature' blokes kicking the sh* out of one another in the middle of the road. :? Nice welcome. Rough city.

And don't forget the American judge a few years back who used the word "niggardly" in an open courtroom and faced a huge backlash over his "racist" comment.

In the Co-op today I noticed their packs of sandwich bags. Just in case I wasn't sure what I should use these for, if I were to purchase them, it helpfully states in large type on the front of the box ''For food use''. Well, you can't be too careful these days, can you :eh?

Tell you what always gets me (more of an example of how stupid they think we are) when on the news they cut, split screen, to an outside reporter and they 'helpfully' caption the screen 'Studio' and 'Westminster' for example. Yeah we couldn't work that out from the plain background and the London skyline!

And labelling on food - I have a few intolerances so have to check ingredients but when something says it is a date and walnut cake is there really a need to say it has nuts in it. And the cop out 'may contain nuts'.

...And when the packet of Cream Crackers shows a picture of a cracker & cheese they have to remind us that this is a 'serving suggestion', just in case we complain when there's no cheese in the packet.
