anybody watch it tonight? slow start but once it got going, i thought it was brilliant. great social commentary and pathos in the comedy. love it, subtitles or not.

I quite like it. Loads of people in Glasgow were really offended when it first started, but that just shows a lack of intelligence, I think... Missed it tonight, though, cos I was wrapping Christmas presents, which for some reason has to be done with the telly off...

Subtitles? Are they showing it with English subtitles in case people don't understand it? Oh dear :*:

I'm sure DisneyTime you are more genteel than Govan (Possil more like ..only joking..Anniesland etc) Can't believe it's ten years since it was on(you must of been a toddler!) .Not as philosophical as it was near the end of the last series , but it had it's moments . Must of been a talking translation over-dubbed because some gleckit numpties tak a loada keech an dinae ken how tae read ! :*: (in brackets ...ya bam!)

:*: I've only seen in on DVD, so I didn't know about the subtitles. You're right-ish. Almost everyone speaks like him round here... I don't. But I can understand them...

Must watch it. I'm really curious about the subtitles now.

I for one thought it was in bad taste in places - I don't remember it being so much in the old days. The references to 'alternative sexual practices', (to put it politely) and the name they called Gordon Ramsay were not funny. I thought that efforts to stamp out sectarianism in Glasgae football were at the forefront of the clubs' agendas, and this does little to help.

At least I didn't need the subtitles. I may not be Scottish, but living up here gives me a head start. Mind you, the accent varies from village to village up here, ken?

Gordon Ramsey is a hun, and it is how folk talk........

I thought it was very funny once it got going and had some of the old reckless humour and personality.

Did think they all looked much cleaner than in the olden days

We gave it a miss last night, I'll look out for it the next time around. I can't understand what they say half the time, I go to Glasgow to do shopping now and again. They have better shops.
We have saying in Edinburgh 'the best thing to come out of Glasgow was the Edinburgh Bus' No offence intended to anyone!
They also have few choice words to say about us in the East. Funny thing is I can't remember them!!
If you know lets hear them?

My favourite expression from my time in Scotland was west coast Scots telling me that Edinburgh folk would invite you round and greet you with "You'll have had your tea" ... which basically meant you're not getting anything! :*: :*:
