Decided not to go to this one in the end - the last train back is 11.30 which is cutting it a bit fine, I couldn't possibly leave a Hawley gig early! :*:

That's a shame. I always thought the trains went through the night there on account of the Norwich - London line (going through Stowmarket). I'll have to remember they finish so early for the future.

We are heading back towards Cambridge, but we are only in a two seater,
which always buggers us for giving lifts.

So I am a bit useless.

I think its about a 10 minute max car journey from the regent to the Railway Station.

Can't believe not enough tickets sold for the Regent so its been moved to the Corn Exchange. Typical of Ipswich, if its not Daniel O'Donnell or a tribute band...

Anyway, at least its still on so my first chance to catch the man live & I can't wait.

Make it Colchester next time Richard we've got a much more vibrant music scene here!

Tickets are half price now.

It's not really good news for those of us in the anglia area cos if I was Richard I wouldn't bother coming here again. But I'd just like to say, it was the wrong town not the wrong area. Try colchester arts centre next time Camera Obscura packed that out (so I was told - missed it myself- please come again Carey you are also one of my fave bands!). The town of Colchester has much more of a music and concert tradition than Ipswich.

Agreed Ipswich is not exactly a hotbed of music but you'd think people would jump at the chance to see someone decent for a change!

I went to Colchester Arts Centre earlier in the year & yeah its a great little venue but is it big enough for Mr H?

well we've got the charter hall and the mercury theatre but The arts centre is the nicest to play. We get a few big names there now and then. How big is the corn exchange? - never been there

I know! And Alesha Dixon was a sell out
I'm embarrassed for this area!

I couldn't believe it, specially with his shows selling out in other venues.

Still definitely going, they assured us that our tickets will be just as good/comparable (cause we had good seats).

Looking forward to it! :D

Agreed that Ipswich may not have been the best choice, but personally I'd go with Cambridge rather than Colchester though. That said, I'd still go to Norwich or Colchester to see a decent band.

Its got the Corn Exchange and The Junction and has a reasonable live music scene.

Its not good news for us in this area though, looking at some of the pap playing at The Regent

I was well chuffed when I saw that RH was coming, we need more artists of his caliber coming to play here.
