fucking MOT day, car has been running as sweet as a nut and thought it should sail through. no fucking chance, some shit about bushes and suspension arms and brake pipes. BASTARD  .....probably near on £300 of work. I'm getting it done then flogging the fucker. It is actually a great little car, 'Fiesta zetec' racing green, alloys, aircon, cd, 61k milage,. £1500 if anyone on here is interested, £1700 if I flog it on auto trader.

I had a similar experience when I took my car in for its MOT earlier this year. I foolishly thought it would sail through so put it in for the test when I was up home in Yorkshire. Of course it failed and I didn't have enough time to have the work done before I had to travel back down here(funnily enough it was something to do with the suspension and bushes) also needed a new tyre and windscreen wipers (just over £300 worth of work needed).

Anyway to cut a long story short, I had a new tyre fitted and put it in for a new test at Kwik Fit down here (didn't tell them it'd failed) and guess what - it sailed through! I took it to Kwik Fit because I reckoned they had no incentive to do any unnecessary work unlike some other garages. I could be doing someone a disservice and all that but it does make you wonder ...

It is indeed a fucker of the highest order! this credit crunch bollocks is starting to bite harder than a chav's pitbull. Christmas is round the corner and I hope the kids realize that daddy will have to start selling his arse on the townhall steps to pay for it. :|

Sorry to hear that Dave. My Bike service and MOT cost over £700 this year. And I had to buy new tyres for the f**ker 2 months previously at £220 for the pair.

Hope this makes you feel better!! :*:

A word of warning. Now that MOT tests are computerised, if your motor fails a test, wherever you take it to next for a re-test will know that it has failed a previous test. And that's not all - because your car has failed a test, your insurance may be invalidated even though your old test is still in date. Technically you're driving a vehicle that has failed an MOT test. Big brother strikes again eh?

I should be ok, I take my car to a mechanic who does me the work then gets it re-tested. Gonna get it fixed up and flog it. Just as the Sheffield bus drivers go on strike!!
