I was being arsey :*: Can't stand any of them, well maybe Chuck and Annie at a push. I would have been a Royalist in the days when they got off their arses and fought but sadly I'm about four hundred years behind the times on that one!

Couldn't give a shit about it.

I sometimes envy the way other countries feel a strong connection to their leaders (like Thailand and their King) but with England I just don't 'get it'. In feel a strong connection to Liverpool but to England? No chance

Quite disappointed by the response on the forum towards the royals.i am from an irish republican background myself, but have a lot of time for the royal family. I think they bring a lot of good to this country not just from the tourism angle etc.... many countries would love to have the royal family we have with all its heritage.and hey this from an irishman, how times have changed

Why should we respect anyone for being born into money, privilege and comfort and being completely out of touch with reality??? And I don't buy all of this 'they bring revenue in via tourism' shit. If that's the case sack the lot of them and plough the money we pay towards their upkeep into maintaining the castles and the Tower and the stuff people actually come to see. And spend the rest on sports facilities for kids, education and hospitals.i think wed see an improvement in the country pretty quickly if we concentrated on that instead of whos going to design Kates fucking wedding dress. Its such a sham, distracting the country from the fact that half of us wont be working on a years time with this announcement. And of course by the time we are having our homes repossessed they'll tell us about the next royal sprog so that will 'lift' the country again. We need to stop carrying them around on fucking cushions and let them try getting a job stacking shelves down Tesco's with their pretendy degrees. Idiotic inbred parasites the lot of them.

do you think they'd have the same appeal without the royals in situ though, a lot of the american visitors for example whom i know are "in love" with the royals themselves and not just the history and the buildings (which i find personally more interesting from a historical/tourism point of view).

He looks like what he is, a chinless prick who wants to create a two tier society and make sure the ex working class who now dare to think of themselves as middle class having made the most of their opportunities and dared to aspire to getting a decent education and owning their own homes etc dont get any further ideas. Cut benefits not just for the fraudsters who we'd all like to see brought in line but for the genuine claimants too, make further education ludicrously expensive and therefore impossible for even the brightest non Tory kids oh and slash public services why don't you. Hey presto- Thatchers fucking Britain.

So I guess the that's a no your previous question :*:

tying in nicely with the topic of this thread, i'm sure you saw how delighted he was to announce the royal wedding...no need to guess why.
