Sorry to be touting someone else's wares on Richard's site, but I know that there's one or two folks on here (and one or two who don't contribute any more but, who knows, maybe pop by for a browse now and then.........) who share my love for the errant genius that is Jim White.

It seems that Jim has parted ways with his record label and is self financing his latest album. But the self finance hasn't quite stretched far enough  .

So he's offering folks with an interest in his music to contribute to the album, and has dangled a few oddments as an incentive. This means that you can get your hands on some unusual, possibly collectible bits and bobs whilst helping a unique talent get his work done. Sounds like a deal to me. Here's a link with the details if anyone is interested.

Thanks for reading - hope its ok to put this on here, I stress that I am in no way connected to Jim White, just happen to think he's a very special artist and one of a kind.

Hi Barney,

thanks for posting that, really weird thing is I was listening to some Jim White and browsing his new site earlier but I somehow missed this. Definitely going to throw a few quid his way after all you get it back with the free record and stuff when its finished.

I'd say most folks on here bar one or two of us wouldnt know Jim but he's the shit totally as a man and musician, doing it for the love of making records end of. maybe those who maybe will not donate will see this and at least check out his music the web. Guy has such an interesing background, they'll probably make a film about his life some day, if they dont they fuckin should.

Nice one Eoin,

looks like he's edging towards his target but I hope that even if no-one else wants to contribute at least maybe one or two may be inspired to check the guy out. A true one-off - his Manchester show last year is probably the best live performance I have ever seen.
