Booking my holiday with my Girlfriend. Her Grandparents live on a vineyard in Corsica so we're going there for a third year in a row. Amazing place. Only problem is I'm not allowed to speak English :(

Corsica has been on the list for a while now but haven't got there yet.

Tell us more!

I'd definitely recommend it. Great beaches, lovely mountains, wild boars roaming around. Lovely sunsets and wild herbs growing on the hillsides.

off to Santorini in Greece early next week. Last day at work today and counting down the hours. Of course nothing goes according to plan as I've knacked the car by putting too much oil in it - bastard thing guzzles oil and then when you remember to feed it this is what happens. Getting it looked at today in my absence :Hoorah - can't really cope with car stuff on any level except the driving it bit. Hope I haven't knacked it for good otherwise getting to the airport will be a pain and more expense

Hope it will be ok in Greece, I feel torn going there. A lovely country to visit and very friendly interesting people who treat children with much more warmth than the average British person so a good place to go with young uns. Know that tourism is a big part of their economy so pleased to enjoy their hospitality but also don't like the idea of visiting somewhere where the standard of living is in such peril.

Think it could be our last family holiday with my eldest who is 17 the day we go. Half expected him to say he didn't want to come with us. My wife and I had set our hearts on Cornwall but when he said can we go to Greece again we were swayed by that sad thought. He's off to Reading the day after we get back - poor soul is a fan of Bring Me The Horizon and their ilk but pleased he is bothered about music at all - so could be a turning point in our lives as a family.

Ah, feel for you. My boy is eleven and his independence is growing every day. Will be crap at all that when it comes, I know it.

Have had such a rubbish time lately and didn't really think that we would get away. But have booked ten days waking up to this so hoping that will do me some good. Have a lovely trip. xx

Hello lovely, it's in Benodet in Brittany. We eventually bought a new camper, halves with some mates, so we're off in that. There's a little campsite right on the beach and it's really reasonable, can give you the details if you want them. And they hire out tents with double beds in them!!!! Glamping! Got a cheap crossing on the ferry as well. All a bit last minute because of circumstance but boys need to get away and get some sand between their toes. What about you? Getting away?xx

Off to Port William tomorrow - wherever there's a harbour there's a pub...

just got back from France - a week in Antibes above Bar Happy face - but with Air con - very pricey but beautiful - the Picasso museum and the beach were big hits- then the train to Normandy - Omaha beach - the weather was pretty poor, as was the gite but Point du Hoc and Omaha beach (ref Private Ryan) were amazing - very very sad but also breathtaking - there was an old lad there who had obviously been on the beaches in 1944 - ironic as all the rioting was going on in London we thought... glad to be home though - DO NOT EVER use LD ferries they were the most incompetant bunch of shambolic wastes of space ever - and nearly two hours late! Pictures to follow when I've downloaded them!

On Friday - I will be jetting off for 2 weeks of Cajun / Country / Blues / Bluegrass, and anything else thats available. Including beer, BBQ pork in drivins, diners and dives.

New York / Memphis / Nashville / Clarksdale / Loiusiana / Mississippi and New Orleans. whooo hoooo.
