Oh dear - hope you're not in too much pain.

Might I suggest that this may be the perfect excuse for a tour-long Gene Vincent impersonation? I'm sure someone could rustle up a 1950s leg brace.

Hope you're on the mend.

Hi Richard, I hope you'll get much better soon. Moving around with crutches must be a proper drag, but, thanks to painkillers and such, that should be the worst part of it. Your commitment to carry on with all the gigs in the tour just shows what a great bloke you are. Many people cancel shows and kick up a fuss for much less. I'm proud to be a fan of someone like this.

All the best wishes for a speedy recovery.

(Before entering the forum I had read a couple of reviews about the concert in Barcelona that mentioned that you had been sitting all the time, without explaining why, and I was wondering what it was all about.)

Hello,

So sorry to hear that, I can imagine that going from one city to another for gigs is not the best way to rest and take care of your leg... I have sprained my ankle as well last week playing tennis and I have been since very anxious not to be able to make it to your gig in Paris... But I won't let you down ;-) and I will be there on Wednesday, on one ankle or two, but definitely without crutches as it would not be very convenient to applaud (don't want to hurt anyone) ... So let me know if you want me to leave these crutches for you at Les Bouffes du Nord's reception desk :-)
I think we all know that you will do your best to play anyway ; I remember two years ago I was just about to leave for your gig in Lyon (the Roman theater) when I read your post saying that you had caught an evil bronchitis... Well the set has been shortened that time, but as ill as you were you stood and play on that stage anyway, and I thank you for that, and for that beautiful June night.
So I'm not too worried for tomorrow's gig in Paris, it's ok if it shortened or if there is a chair on the stage ;-), I just really hope that this gig and the next ones will not be too painful for you and that you will soon recover. And no matter what, bronchitis or marble staircase, I will try again in October at La Cigale... ;-)
Take care et bon courage.

Oh no! I'm sorry to hear that boss, I hope it heals quickly. A few pints of Guinness should help numb the pain :*:

Looking forward to seeing you at the City Hall in September :D

I spoke to a friend who's a nutritionist and according to her... it's good to eat kale (helps knit bones back together), beetroot (helps produce red blood cells), and beef and chicken, particularly soups where you boil up the bones and the marrow comes out.

What an awful thing to happen just as you are starting your tour......hope the pain eases soon. And no dancing - now that is a shame
My grandma used to swear by the old Jewish cure all of chicken soup. So with EP's nutritionist friend and an old Jewish grandma I think there must be something in it.

The thought of RH, Shez and Colin's dance moves has tickled me and brought a picture of Mud's Tiger Feet to mind
