What an absolute privilege it was to be there on Saturday night. Many, many, thanks to Richard and the band, 6 Music, The BBC, The Philharmonic, and a special thank you to all those involved in making it possible for me and Mrs Egg to be there! Awesome! ..>

I know others have said it, but I also found it rather emotional, I had to bite my tongue to stem the tears (it's a man thing! ) as it all started with Open up.... :Hoorah

I mentioned previously that if There's a Storm.... was on the set list, it would be fantastic, but fuckin' 'ell....It was EPIC! ..>

Really truly sorry for you PD, your excitement at being able to go was hugely evident. Gutted for you.

You also missed "the elusive Egg" saying hello!

Really nice to (finally!) meet Little Dickie, Lofty, Noblebones, Jan H and their lovely partners, and sooty for having to shoot off after the gig, but really looking forward to meeting up at Holmfirth, where I been told that meeting some of the other people on here will be a right laugh! :D

Can't wait! ..>

Who's sooty? .....

A few pleas for a physical release from twitter and facebook

"To whom it concerns: cut the red tape and make this a physical release -The BBC Philharmonic Presents Richard Hawley"

"this HAS to be realeased. it lifts the music to another dimension."

"I'm just listening to the gig and it so has to be released !"

"This is well worth a listen if you're A) a Richard Hawley fan and 2) You like the BBC Philharmonic orchestra. Hope it get's an official release at some point."

And if anyone else on those sites private messages me and asks me to post their comments on the forum for Richard to see, I will add them to the above post.

Please please pretty please can we have a physical release? Or at the very least an iTunes release? I've been listening to it on the BBC site constantly since Saturday, I'll be sad if I can't hear it again from next week :( It was an incredible concert of sublime musicianship, and it definitely deserves a proper release, maybe a limited edition through the website like the Devil's Arse gig? Judging by the number of requests I'm sure it would be a big seller!

Dave

Was the piano like instrument on stage on Saturday an Ondes Martenot? (He asks, trying to sound intelligent)

Just listening again to the concert. Which in itself isn't something you get to do that often - hear it in as good audio as it was actually being there. The enormity of the whole thing is still sinking in really, all the work, time & skill that must have gone into it and it works so well & sounds so damn good. It's bloody clever, all that, isn't it ..>
