Unemployment and being broke is one thing, having time to do everything I want with a decent income, which is how I see retirement, definitely appeals.
I certainly wouldn't need to work to keep myself motivated, I have far too much on the go in my life for that.

Much as I would like to move to a house near the sea [Northumberland] or buy a big boat or something and trail round the Western Isles - I know that will not be the case - but you have to have dreams...

Journos lazily recycling old material? Yeah like that would ever happen...

A triple CD would be most welcome and would almost - almost - make up for a lack of live gigs :D

Put a bonus DVD with the CD and I'll be happy :D

This was my favourite Richard Hawley gig of over 20 I have been to. Richard and the band were on top form ,the atmosphere was great , I was on the front row, and I got a tea towel at last. Every song was beautifully played and the Lou Read song 'I'm waiting for my man' was just gorgeous. Enjoy your break Richard but please come back soon.
