I was told this morning that my dear dear friend and soul brother J P Bean passed away totally out of the blue,I want to thank the audience at Barrowlands for getting me through the gig,he was on my mind all the way through the gig I feel utterly heartbroken he was a really massive influence on me,a lifelong friend of mine and my family,I loved him and I know he loved me,I am bereft at this current time I've lost the BEST of friends I can't believe he's gone....my love goes out to Sheila and the family,my love is always there

I salute a great great man and a brother xx

There will be more to follow but I'm in too much of a mess to type any more dark words,I thought we'd got more time to grow old together I learned so much from his beautiful heart and mind X

Oh, no. God, I'm so sorry. What an awful loss. It's very apparent everything he meant to you, and will always mean.

I also want to add that it was because of your mentioning and praising him so often, here and there, that I recently started to read Sheffield Gang Wars. I was really happy to get a copy. I love these sorts of books, and this one is phenomenal.

A loss on so many levels, for so many reasons. I'm so glad you had the time with him you did. We never do know when, do we. Thank goodness for great friends.

Take care.

So sorry, Richard. It sounds like this goes deep. Our thoughts are with you. I hope you feel the love and support from us all when you're on stage. Do and say what you need to. We're there for you.

So sorry for you and your friend’s family. Good you are at home – family and friends are a good source of comfort. And take care of yourself – grief is an all encompassing thing and does things to your body as well as your head. Time and all that. Love and sympathy. xxxx

Was very sad to hear this the other day. I only knew Julian as a music fan. He'd been to a few of my shows and was usually found helping out on the door at Stuart Basford's gigs. It wasn't until some months after i was properly introduced to him that i actually made the connection and realised he was "JP Bean". x

Sorry for your loss Richard, if he'd have been at the arena last night, he'd have loved every minute of it i'm sure. Thanks for a brilliant performance.

Really sorry to hear that. When people are taken from us so suddenly it's so so hard. Best wishes to you and all his family.

And thank the Lord London respected Richard's call for a minute's silence on Sunday for Remembrance Sunday which hung all the more poignantly given we knew what was goin down. Heart of Oak came out like a tracer bullet after that and I'm sure JP would have gotten it loud and clear on his way on to the meadows.....
Keep the faith Richard and take care - a few days off at the right time I hope
X
