A bit of a tip old bean.. Request a quiet room or one at the top of the hotel. There is a bar /nightclub attached to that Hotel that is very popular with the young folks called Dicey's that will be rammed with enthusiastic young things 7 nights a week on account of the cheap pints so to catch a bit of shut eye.. unless you prefer to join them of course then it might be best. Also a few other night clubs on Harcourt St too including the infamous Copper Face Jacks which is favored by rural people visiting the capital as well as actual coppers and indeed nurses. Harcourt St is lively as fuck on a Friday night also but at least you will be literally across the road from the gig.

Mustang horses, champagne glasses
Anything frail anything wild
It's the price of living motion, what's beautiful is broken
And grace is just the measure of a fall.

Have booked a quiet room - thanks for the tip - any quiet pubs in Dublin that no one likes on a Friday / Saturday dinner time?...I know stupid question...thought not...

Should be there for a week - with a few days in Dublin and a few days somewhere else...you never know there could be a last minute warm up thing going down someplace...

I can't really comment as I don't usually east out in pubs in the city too much but just drink wise for a quiet decent pint that wont have a TV blaring etc... try the following...

The Cobblestone
The Long Hall
The Oak
The Stag's Head
Whelan's
Bruxelles
Mulligans
The Lord Edward
Kavanaghs (aka The Grave Diggers) This is about a 12 Euros taxi ride about 15 minutes trip but it's worth it trust me.

Apart from that it you want a small coastal village feel take the Dart train out to Malahide or Howth.. both about 20 minute trips from the city but loads of good pubs and nice walks.. Can advise in detail nearer time.

Cheers for that - went to Howth on a previous visit - so Malahide will get a visit - cafes are for eating and pubs are for drinking [well most of the time] - so that list will be used.

Have googled Grave Diggers - that's my kind of pub.

:? dont expect much from the russell court, Ive heard its not great
this is your only man for breakfast, it's near the hotel:
https://www.tripadvisor.ie/Restaurant_R ... ublin.html

Quiet pub on friday/saturday... there's not many, Oscars beside Christchurch usually a decent bet, its fairly new and on a quiet st. and literally just up the road from there is Mr.Hawley's favourite pub in Dublin, The Lord Edward, if you get there early evening and go upstairs its and get a couple of seats it's a great little spot...

closer to harcourt st. more chilled out places I'd recommend:
O'Connells on Richmond St.
Against the grain on Camden st.
Devitts on Camden st

I'd stay away from pubs on Harcourt st itself, very overpriced and full of knobs

...and I've booked the trip too. Staying at Harrington Hall on Harcourt Street! Hopping distance from the venue :)
