Hi everyone. Just wanted to bring your attention to my review of Richard Hawley's recent duo gig at Mareel arts centre in the Shetland Islands. It was a fantastic night, and he made a lot of new fans :)

Thanks, thoroughly enjoyed reading your review and despite seeing RH live many many times over the years I now feel I've missed out on something special ..>

There's a few 'back catalogue' songs there that I've missed seeing live in recent times:

Ashes on the Fire
The Sea Calls
Darlin'
The Nights are Cold
Lady Solitude

....and one Hollow Meadows track that I didn't hear on the last live tour - Long Time Down. Hopefully RH will give it a go in December at Sheffield City Hall - PLEASE

Yeah, I am guessing he mixed the setlist up a bit due to the stripped-down format of the show. I'd been wanting to go and see Hawley live on the UK mainland for years, so was delighted that he came all this way to see us instead :-)

'Long Time Down' was one highlight among many. The strength of the songs from 'Hollow Meadows' really stood out even alongside such a strong back catalogue. Such great lyrics.

Whilst in the Shetlands Richard was interviewed for the Pitt Lane Sessions. The interview and a couple of songs are at approximately 39:12
