I don't yet have the broadcast date but some time in the next four weeks, on BBC Radio 2 at 10.00 on a Wednesday Janice Long will be taking a 'long walk' with Richard. First broadcast is on Wednesday 9 August featuring Holly Johnson (Alison Moyet and Gary Numan are the other featured artists for the four episode series).

Wednesday 23 August, BBC Radio 2 10.00 A Long Walk with Richard Hawley and Janice Long.
They spend time in the bar and music room of Richard's local the Greystones, and then off to nearby Bingham Park with Richard's dogs. Topics of discussion include the changing musical, political and social atmosphere in Sheffield from the 1960s to the present day

Enjoyed it! Now I'm retired I shall have to come and explore Sheffield on foot with the camera.

By the way - if you need a proofreader Mr H, I'm your man. Written several English revision guides for Harper Collins and have just been asked to cover a maternity for a lady who proof reads for a music tech company by one of my ex-students. I'm cheap too, but enough about my personal life ;)

Giod kisten and the book sounds good. Was 19 when I heard the original Walking In The Rain , already knew Johnny Ray's hit ( good record) and Johnny Bragg just stunned me. Soul music
