I've never been a huge Floyd fan, but was intruiged by them as a band. Rick Wright and Nick Mason always seemed the backbone of the band that didn't get involved in the in-fighting.

R.I.P

Arnold Layne and See Emily Play are my favourite Floyd tracks.

Brings back some memories. Sad news.

:( They're one of my dad's favourite bands... I love 'See Emily Play'. R.I.P.

Oh that is sad news.

I wasn't a big fan of the group but saw them for their 'one-off' reunion at Live 8 in 2005 and they gave an incredible performance.

Bad one - from being age about 17, my favourite Floyd stuff was the Psychedelic '67/'68 era stuff where Rick was playing a Farfisa Organ and a Mellotron - he wrote some really trippy, dream like songs such as 'Remember A Day' and 'See Saw' from 'Saucerful of Secrets'.

Sadly missed - at least Floyd got it together again for the live 8 concert.

Pink Floyd is one of the bands that I have memory of listening to them since I was a baby, my dad use to play them all the time when I was a child, and I learn to love them till this very day. I am very sad, cause Rick Wright was my favorite Floyd, the quite one, the humble one, and the clasically trained one, the musician at heart.
God Bless him up there.

As a snotty kid I detested Pink Floyd until curiosity got the better of me later on and I bought Dark Side Of The Moon. I was shocked that it wasn't a double album - in my mind Pink Floyd was all about 40 minute songs... It really is one of those utterly perfect records and I was happy to be proved wrong.

Very sad news indeed, RIP.

I always loved the album 'More' from 1969 - some laid back trippy-ness. 'Cirrus Minor' and 'Cymbaline' are beautiful. Every time I put it on it takes me back to being 17/18 again.
